Enjoy the new ski season

Enjoy the new ski season

The song "Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!", and we couldn't agree more at Daguisa Hotels. Summer temperatures allow for numerous excursions in the mountains of Andorra, autumn and spring are two seasons that offer incredible views and landscapes of the country, but let's not fool ourselves: we feel the call of the snow.

Because we love the white blanket that dresses the Principality's mountains, and we love skiing, sledging and snowboarding down the slopes. This is also the time when the group's three mountain establishments reopen their doors to snow-hungry customers. And if skiing down the slopes is your thing, today we offer you the main new features of the 2022-23 season in Andorra!

INDEX
1. A domain of 300 kilometres of slopes
2. The new ski passes available
3. Ikon Pass, one of the world's largest ski passes
4. The Andorra World Cup Finals 2023
5. 2 December: mark the date on your calendar
6. Tailor-made offers and packages

1. A domain of 300 kilometres of slopes
Undoubtedly, the biggest novelty this ski season is the integration of Pal Arinsal into Grandvalira Resorts, an alliance that unifies Andorra's offer as a country of snow and leisure activities. It also means the addition of more than 300 kilometres of slopes, making the Principality one of the main destinations in Europe in terms of skiable surface area.

This is a very important agreement at a national level, which allows all winter sports fans to enjoy the 215 slopes that make up the different resorts now under the name of Grandvalira Resorts with a single pass.

In this new alliance, something that will be maintained with respect to last season, and which will start to be applied in Pal Arinsal, is the application of variable, or dynamic, ski pass prices. In other words, depending on demand and the day of the week, the cost of the pass will be different and even 15% cheaper than usual. As is the case with airline tickets, the time of purchase will be an important variable in achieving a more affordable price.

2. The new ski passes available
As I was saying, with the new alliance come new season ski pass modalities. Basically, the offer is concentrated in three passes: Andorra Pass, Nord Pass and Mountain Pass; all of them are already on sale to start enjoying on 2 December, the day the slopes are scheduled to open.

The first of the three passes, the Andorra Pass, is the main new feature, being the country pass that includes the three resorts (Grandvalira, Ordino Arcalís and Pal Arinsal) and replaces the traditional seasonal passes. The Nord Pass, on the other hand, will be launched this year. This is the pass that gives access to more than 90 km in the northern domains (Ordino Arcalís and Pal Arinsal) and includes up to four days of skiing in Grandvalira. In addition, both this and the Andorra Pass will also be valid during the summer season, including the Pal Arinsal Bike Park.

Finally, the Mountain Pass unifies the old Natura and Pedestrian passes that existed in the resorts. It is a pass that allows the practice of alternative snow sports to alpine skiing in the 27 ski mountaineering circuits and in the snowshoeing areas in Ordino Arcalís, Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Naturland. In addition, the season ticket includes an invitation to ski one day at any of Andorra's ski resorts.

3. Ikon Pass, one of the world's largest ski passes
Do you know the Ikon Pass? It is one of the two biggest ski passes in the world, with 54 resorts spread all over the world. The big new feature this season is the inclusion for the first time of a Pyrenean resort: Grandvalira Resorts.

These 54 ski destinations include resorts in up to 11 countries around the world: the United States, Canada, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Chile. As far as Grandvalira Resorts is concerned, the Ikon Pass is a ski pass that will give holders access to seven combined days in the resorts of the Principality of Andorra with no blackout dates.

4. The Andorra World Cup Finals 2023
If you enjoy the snow, but not only to ski down the slopes of the mountain but also as a spectator, you will surely have the 13th of March 2023 on your calendar, when the Andorra 2023 World Cup Finals will begin. A total of nine events will be held until 19 March in Soldeu El Tarter (Grandvalira), bringing together the 25 best skiers in each discipline.

Grandvalira already hosted the first edition of the women's alpine skiing World Cup in 2012, the women's super-giant and combined World Cup in 2016, and the World Cup Finals in 2019. Now, four years later, the great white circus returns to Grandvalira with the hope, in May, of being the winning bid to host the 2029 World Championships.

In addition, if your passion for snow and winter sports is high, we have recently opened the registration process for 350 volunteers who will provide service to the technical teams inside the competition slopes. Are you up for it?

5. 2 December: mark the date on your calendar
As I said before, I assume that you have already marked 2 December in your calendar. If not, I hope you will do so by the end of this reading. This is the day when the 2022-23 ski season starts and all the Grandvalira Resorts open. From then until 16 April 2023, fans will be able to enjoy the more than 300 kilometres of slopes.

However, December 2nd is not only marked by the start of the season, but also by the reopening of the three Daguisa Hotels establishments in the mountains: the Euroski Mountain Resort Hotel 4*., el Hôtel & Préférence Font d’Argent Canillo Hotel 4* and the Hôtel & Préférence Font d’Argent Pas de la Casa Hotel 4*.

All three hotels are at the foot of the slopes, making them three great options for your next trip to Andorra, with all the amenities to make your stay perfect. Not only with a view to spending a great day skiing, but also when you come back and take advantage of their respective wellness areas to unwind your muscles.

6. Tailor-made offers and packages
At Daguisa Hotels we work to make your experience in the Principality of Andorra unique, so that you decide to visit the country again. For this reason, we offer the possibility of different packages that adapt to the needs of each visitor.

The group's five establishments offer the hotel + ski pack in Grandvalira, cor as many days of ski passes as nights booked, to go down the more than 300 kilometres of the country's resorts. A perfect option for winter sports lovers.

However, in the case of the two city-based establishments, the Golden Tulip Andorra Fènix Hotel 4* and the Tulip Inn Andorra Delfos Hotel 4* also have the Nord Pass hotel + ski pack. In this case, the conditions are the same, as many days of ski pass as nights booked, but with the ski pass that allows skiing in the domains of the north of Andorra: Ordino Arcalís and Pal Arinsal. In addition, children under five years of age will get a free ski pass for the more than 90 kilometres and 66 slopes to which the Nord Pass gives access.

Finally, don't forget the offer we have at Daguisa Hotels: if you book directly on our website or at our hotels, we'll give you €0.07 per litre in a discount voucher for all Shell stations in Andorra. Remember that this promotion ends on 31 December, so make the most of it for the start of the winter season! With this discount, you'll have more budget left to spend on enjoying the snow in Andorra. We'll be waiting for you!
